Everyone, everywhere, in every type of situation has some degree of free will they can choose to use to improve their current condition and reality. In this blog you will gain some tips on how to improve your life by exercising your free will!
The first thing to ask yourself is, “Do I have an outline of my goals written down somewhere in my every day possession?” If you do not have your goals written somewhere that you review regularly well then you have just discovered the #1 reason this is a goal and not a reality. Your brain is like a computer. It continues to work on the information and goals you provide it whether you realize this or not.
A perfect example is when you are trying to remember someone’s name; it is ‘on the tip of your tongue’ as we say. 45 minutes later, after you thought you had given up, the name pops into your head. Your brain continued to search for that answer even know your attention had moved on.
Your subconscious mind and brain are largely the operating system that guides your life; you are in control of this system. Humans may not have 100% control over their reality; however, humans do have a certain degree of free will available through conscious intention and awareness.
Why would you not maximize the free will you have to create the life you want? When you tell your brain what you want it has a goal to work toward. If you do not clarify where you are going, then what path are you on?
Start by mapping out your goals. Do not allow yourself to think for even a second that you do not have time to set goals. That is your first obstacle to overcome, identifying and writing down goals. The more detailed you are the faster your wants and goals are likely to become a reality. Write out specific goals and print a copy for your daily review. A goal becomes a goal when you write it down and decide to pursue it; a goal becomes activated when you believe it is possible. Your brain works with your beliefs to guide you right where you need to be. Focus on and believe in your goals and the path will be revealed to you. Society says to go find this path and work your butt off until you get there. But really the path to your goals comes to you through opportunities. You must know what you want and believe it is possible to know which opportunities to act on.
You are the keyboard to your brain. The human brain is incredibly intelligent and eager to set new and higher goals. If you do not program your desired goals your brain uses your current belief system to produce goals to work toward. In other words your brain works to prove the beliefs that you give it. Look at the table below: if you knew your belief system was the basis for your brain’s work which side would you prefer?
| Negative & Limiting Beliefs | Positive & Conscious Beliefs |
| “Bad things always happen to me” | “Good things always happen to me” |
| “I am not a very healthy person” | “I am a healthy person” |
| “It’ll probably lead to surgery soon” | “My body heals itself naturally” |
| “I am bad with names” | “I am excellent at remembering names” |
| “I am broke all the time” | “I live in abundance and prosperity” |
If you want to take this a step further, keep track of your beliefs over a week span; this is all the things you say about yourself and the circumstances around you such as the examples above. Write as many of these beliefs as you can. Once you have about 10, 20, or 30 note whether they are positive, neutral, or negative in relation to your goals. You can literally move a mountain by one single change to a belief. Write them out and then pick a couple simple ones to start experimenting with (i.e. “I am always on time.”). You will soon discover that you are always making it on time without even trying. All you did was change your thought.
Summary: In order to change or improve your life write down your goals, review them daily, believe they are possible, and be open to say yes when opportunities present themselves. Do not get caught up in how you will reach your goals; you cannot possibly know how your reality will shift to reach your goals. Fear and doubt will only slow the process of free will down. Just focus on what you want and believe everything will work out exactly as it should when the time is right.
